Limit switches Empty
PostSubject: Limit switches   Limit switches Icon_minitimeMon May 30, 2011 6:15 pm

Hi Folks,

I thought I'd share my experiences fitting limit switches to my 3040. I thought I'd make things interesting by using optical switches and aside from a little extra wiring, they work great! So far I've only attached the Y axis to my machine but X and Z will be going on this weekend.

For anyone interested in how I mounted them etc, I just got some alu 90deg (1.5mm) stock and made up some brackets, then just used double sided tape to hold them on. I thought it was best to use something with a little give in case i didn't have something aligned and it decided to crash. Having said that, so far it's worked perfectly!

I've also put a video of it working on Youtube

Cheers,

Andrew
